- Why do you need to put a cookie on my computer?
- I've had your cookie put on my computer but when I come back later why do I have to register again?
- Why do you need to put a cookie on my computer?
- While most cookies are pretty innocuous there are a few websites that install what spyware software calls "tracking cookies". There are only 6 pieces of information that a cookie can contain. They are:
- Name of the cookie. ie. icecream
- Value of the cookie. ie. chocolate
- Date the cookie expires.
- Path. What part of the website the cookie is for.
- Domain. What website the cookie is for.
- Security. http://website or https://website
The sites that use cookies to track your surfing habit use the "Value" field to store the data on your habits. Our cookies do not track any of your information. They are there solely to make your experience better. After you register for our free resources a cookie is put on your computer that our site uses to verify that you have registered and to bypass the registration form. If you were to look at the contents of the Brain Bonanza cookie you would find only information from our site that would tell us that you have already registered.

- Some browsers cookie manager defaults to deleting all cookies when a session ends. This means that when you close your browser all cookies are removed. On Firefox if you look under Tools -> Options -> Privacy. Check the setting for Keep Cookies. It might be set to 'Until I close Firefox'. Change it to 'Until they expire' and you shouldn't have any more problems.
